Balkan Soul Hostel

Pros: Thank you for the wonderful time I spent at this hostel. The accommodation was very clean and the kitchen was perfectly equipped. I also appreciated the spacious lockers, the clean and fresh-smelling bed linen, and the comfortable mattress. The location is excellent, right in the city center, so everything was easily accessible. I would especially like to thank Ra, Sneža , and Martin for their great recommendations for activities and sights. They also organized great activities for travelers, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Thanks to them, I truly enjoyed my time in Belgrade. They were very friendly, kind, and always willing to help, creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere throughout my stay. The evening spent with them was especially great and made the experience even more memorable. If I am ever in Belgrade again, I will definitely choose this hostel again.

Pros: The hostel is generally well maintained and kept clean, nice decor in the communal area. Location is perfect, bus 72 which goes to the airport is literally few mins walk away

Cons: Temperature could be a little warmer in the room.

Pros: Very warm atmosphere, felt just like home. The kitchen has everything you need. There's a supermarket nearby. Just 3 minutes away from the bus-stop of bus #72 to the airport. Very close to all main places of interest. Safe and quiet neighborhood. The beds are very comfortable, with plugs and light. Everything is very clean. There's also a laundry service for a fee.

Pros: There are events organised every evening, so it is a great place to meet new people. The location is good.

Pros: Great vibe of the other guests, lovely common room and helpful staff. Also in a great location in Stari Grad, close to lots of Belgrade's best attractions

Cons: The beds could definitely use curtains or some other solution for more privacy

Pros: As other hostels in Belgrade, Serbian receptionists are reliable (especially, manager Sofia). Other Serbian staffs also work well to manage the hostel to keep cleanness. Sometimes the cat appears near the gate and is quite friendly. There are 3 bathrooms and toilets and also the underground lounge with kitchen is available 24 hours to stay (cooking is not 24 hours). Lockers are big enough. Easy to associate other guests and ok to watch TV.

Cons: At the first time, I felt several racisty attitudes made by foreign volunteers and realised they're not welcoming me. However, later I found out that Asian tourists caused a lot of problems everywhere in Europe and in fact Asian guests here used to behave provocative and impolite, then I guessed workers here distrust Asian-looking guests. Although I have the European ethnicity with Japanese citizenship, they judge me by face as well as other immigrants. Anyway, the reason I'm writing this is that here's a party hostel. So it's highly possible that you encounter such rude Asians, too. Asians do not recognise diversity and used to abuse your appearance if you don't have blonde hair or look Arabic or Asian. So better to avoid Asians if you never look the blonde haired white. I personally met Italian guys there who look like North African Arabic but are least racisty to treat me with good manners and hospitality. I recognise them quite European and they accept me as well. Don't worry! There are still good people here!! :-D
