ArkaBarka Floating Hostel

Located on the shores of one of Belgrade’s many fine parks, ArkaBarka Floating Hostel is just a 2-minute walk from the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Palace of Serbia. The hostel floats on the Danube River and offers simply furnished rooms. Most have large windows that flood rooms with a lot of natural light and many have colourful walls that contrast nicely with natural wood floors. All have either a shared or private bathroom and Wi-Fi is available free of charge. ArkaBarka Floating Hostel has a snack bar, terrace and barbecue facilities. Bicycles can be borrowed from the property free of charge. Shops, restaurants, bars and cafes can be visited just a 10-minute walk away. Boat tours can be organized by the hostel upon request.

Pros: Amazing view, clean fresh air, the lovely balcony and appealing rooms,fire place and cat; but the special mentio goea to the very kind team managing the place..

Cons: Hot water pressure on the weak side. In spite of the peaceful surroundings I could hear loud voices around the clock from across the wallls + very creepy dragging noises from a nearby barge ( daytime only )

Pros: Even in winter the location on the bank of the Danube river has something magical. The room was nice and warm and comfortable bed. The buffet breakfast was varied and with fresh and tasty food including burek. There was also the possibility to experience a free sauna! The staff was absolutely helpfull and nice. Thankz

Pros: Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, interesting location with a view of the river. And there is a nice park near for running. + We had a cute cat neighbor 😊

Cons: The railing at one of the bridges is broken. Once in wet weather I slipped and fell because there was nothing to grab onto. I hope this will be fixed soon.

Amazing nature, Affordable accommodation

Pros: It wasn’t bad for a hostel stay. The room and the bed were clean. The staff member was very helpful and informative. The location was great — staying right above the Danube River was an amazing experience. After passing through a large park area, you reach the hotel; the morning air, nature, the river, and the trees were beautiful. Breakfast was decent. We met the owner, and he was attentive.

Cons: The only thing that bothered me was that they charged their regular nightly rate instead of the price I confirmed on Booking. I noticed it in the morning, and when I mentioned it, they said they didn’t know why it happened and that nothing could be done at that moment, and I would need to resolve it with Booking. It wasn’t a big issue for me, so I didn’t pursue it, but pay attention during check-in so it doesn’t slip by. Before arriving, make sure to ask for the parking location information. I parked somewhere based on a guess and later had to move the car; it was a bit of a walk. The bathroom was small, it was difficult to hang things, and the drainage was a bit problematic.
